Weaving a World with Light

Weaving a World with Light is a two-part Slide Presentation telling the story of photosynthesis and its profound influence on the evolution of Earth over the nearly 4 billion years that this primordial process of energy production has been in existence.

PART 1 - Photosynthesis - Earth's Ancient Art of Energy presents the scientific aspects of photosynthesis from a multidisciplinary perspective. It tells the story of how photosynthesis has changed the chemistry, geology, and biology of the planet. It shows that we live within an integral planet - a place where nothing exists in isolation or in parts - where everything is integrated into a unified global system and 'society' of beings. It explains how photosynthesis works.

PART 2 - The Philosophical Contribution of Photosynthesis presents some thoughts on the deeper significance of this amazing modern story of creation – especially in relation to the urgent need for global societies to address issues of climate change, energy use and adoption of new principles of sustainable self-organization in all human activities. The full presentation is currently only available through personal presentation by Caroline. A DVD is planned and eventually a larger production for the public is envisaged, to be offered worldwide to natural history museums.
