TACKLING THE GARBAGE

Video shot in San Blas, a fishing village and tourist destination on the Pacific coast of Mexico (Nayarit State). It tells the story of a massive cleanup of litter around the beaches of this area, done in May 2009, spearheaded by the local volunteer lifeguards who were helped by an American working for SEMARNAT (through Peace Corps) to get some funds via the Federal Temporary Employment Program. SEMARNAT is the Mexican Ministry for the Environment and Natural Resources.

SEA TURTLE CONSERVATION PROJECT IN MEXICO

Video shot in 2010 about the work done by biologist Oscar Aranda to protect the Olive Ridley sea turtles. The project is based at the Marriott Hotel, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. We see him at work collecting the eggs from a nest on the beach and re-burying them in a safe place on the hotel grounds. This is a rough cut pending more work on this film.

TOURISTS RELEASE BABY TURTLES

Video shot in 2010 showing tourists staying at the Marriott Hotel release baby turtles that have hatched that day in the Sea Turtle Conservation Project based at the Marriott Hotel, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. This is a rough cut, pending more work on this topic.
