Photosynthesis and Our Daily Bread

Article about Photosynthesis and its cosmological significance

Earthlight Magazine, USA Spring 2004

...We stand today discovering our origins at multiple points in the evolution of the universe—from its very first seconds of existence, through the grand galaxies of stars, to those especially huge stars that explode, with their payload of 92 chemical elements from which solar systems can be made. We discover our origin yet again in the next great moment of transformation that is photosynthesis, for this is the fuse from which nearly every living form draws its light. Our being, our life, begins with this moment.

We Can Make War Archaic

Article about the visionary Democrat DENNIS KUCINICH who ran as a candidate for President in the 2004 Election.

..." People ask: is it possible for this country to re-connect? Is it possible for this country to walk away from war? Is it possible to create a new world?  The poet Tennyson once wrote: ' Come my friends, ‘tis not too late to seek a newer world.' And to resonate with the truth of that injunction is to imagine an America where we can work to make the dream of Dr Martin Luther King a reality; to make non-violence an organizing principle in our society, through the creation of a cabinet level Department of Peace. It is possible for us to move in that direction." (QUOTE from Kucinich)

In the Light of Photosynthesis:

A Reflection upon Purpose

Essay created for the Templeton Foundation Essay Contest 2004, with theme : 'The Power of Purpose'.

This essay explores the intrinsic subtlety of purpose when viewed from a cosmological perspective. In this perspective we may see how purpose itself has evolved, as the effects of photosynthetic action on the planet's geo and bio-systems have enabled life to become complex.
