When I came to California in 2000 to do a Masters degree in Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness, I brought a video camera with me. I had spent 13 years in the television documentary business in England and now I wanted to do my own filming and see where it led me.

On this page are a selection of video pieces that I have edited myself in Final Cut Pro. They are drafts and have been learning exercises for me, produced while following a course of studies in Multimedia at the College of Marin, in Marin County CA (2004 – 2006)

Brian Swimme, Belvie Rooks and Barbara Holmes spoke at a special workshop on Race and Cosmology held at the Sophia Institute of Holy Names College in Oakland, CA in June 2003. The discussion at this workshop broached the idea of a new human identity that goes beyond the givens of birth – color, ethnicity, religion and nationality. The video clips explore the idea that a new cosmology, based on the collective body of knowledge from the sciences, can heal the intergenerational wounds to spirit and psyche caused by racism.

There is a short interview with cultural historian and ‘big picture’ thinker, Thomas Berry, whose work I consider to be of huge importance in helping civilization to shift its understanding of the human-earth relationship. (See more about Thomas on the Multimedia Page) Another interview is with artist and psychotherapist Sharon Armstrong about her amazing work making Masks. A further piece is an illustration of the first track from Jennifer Berezan’s CD, Praises for the World which has been presented live to audiences of thousands of people in Oakland in the last few years.
